Terms of Service
Important summary
- Sponsorlist is an independent information service operated by Amsky Labs Ltd.
- The directory reorganises public GOV.UK source data; it is not a list of current vacancies.
- Our tools and articles are not immigration advice, legal advice or a guarantee of sponsorship.
- Verify important decisions with GOV.UK, the employer and an appropriately regulated professional.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Sponsorlist.co.uk, also presented as UK Sponsor List (“Sponsorlist”, the “site” or the “service”). The service is operated by Amsky Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us” or “our”).
By using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Sponsorlist on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. The service we provide
Sponsorlist provides a searchable presentation of public sponsor-licence data, change tracking, comparison and verification tools, and original editorial guides about UK employment sponsorship. Core register data is derived from the Home Office Register of Licensed Sponsors: Workers.
We may add estimated industry labels, convenience links, summaries and other enrichment. These additions are Sponsorlist analysis rather than official Home Office data. Our About Us & Data Methodology page explains the distinction, update schedule and limitations.
We may change, suspend, limit or discontinue a feature where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, source changes or product development. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that a particular feature will remain free indefinitely.
3. Independent status and no government endorsement
Sponsorlist and Amsky Labs Ltd are independent of the Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration and the UK Government. Use of government names, data and links identifies the source and does not indicate endorsement, partnership or official status.
We are not a recruitment agency and do not issue Certificates of Sponsorship, grant sponsor licences or decide visa applications. A company’s presence in the directory means that an organisation with that name appeared in the relevant public register snapshot; it does not mean the company is recruiting, will sponsor you or endorses Sponsorlist.
4. Not immigration advice or professional advice
Immigration outcomes depend on current rules and individual facts. Articles can explain common requirements but cannot assess your eligibility. Before acting, check the current GOV.UK material and, where needed, obtain advice from an adviser regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority, a qualified solicitor or another appropriately authorised professional.
No content, search result, sector label, company profile, advert or email from Sponsorlist creates an adviser-client, solicitor-client, recruiter-candidate or employment relationship.
5. Data accuracy and timing
We use reasonable care to retrieve and process the public register, but we do not warrant that the service is complete, error-free or current at every moment. Possible causes of difference include government publication timing, import delays, source-format changes, spelling variations, entity changes and classification errors.
You must independently verify:
- the employer’s exact legal identity and current entry on the official GOV.UK register;
- the current licence rating and sponsored route;
- that the vacancy and recruiter are genuine;
- that the job, occupation code, salary and working arrangement meet current rules; and
- all fees, application requirements and deadlines.
Historic change records show differences between source snapshots. They are not an official audit trail and may not reveal the reason for a change.
6. Public-sector information and intellectual property
The underlying Home Office register contains public-sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Crown copyright and third-party rights remain with their owners. Users who re-use source data must comply with the applicable licence and attribution requirements.
Sponsorlist’s software, database selection and arrangement, brand, visual design, classifications, change analysis and original editorial content are owned by or licensed to Amsky Labs Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Except as allowed by law or these terms, you may not reproduce, republish, sell or create a competing database from those original elements without written permission.
You may link to public pages, quote short extracts with clear attribution, and use the site for ordinary personal or internal business research. Any broader data licence or API access requires a separate written agreement.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service unlawfully, fraudulently or to facilitate fake recruitment or immigration scams;
- misrepresent Sponsorlist data as proof that a job offer, recruiter or visa is genuine;
- circumvent access controls, rate limits, security measures or technical restrictions;
- introduce malware, probe vulnerabilities or interfere with the service or another user;
- use automated tools to extract substantial parts of the site or impose an unreasonable load without permission;
- copy personal contact details for unsolicited marketing, harassment or discriminatory profiling;
- remove attribution, copyright, source or methodology notices; or
- present yourself as acting for Amsky Labs Ltd, Sponsorlist, the Home Office or a listed employer without authority.
Search engines may crawl the site in accordance with our robots rules, but those rules are not a licence to reproduce protected elements or overload the service. We may block or rate-limit abusive traffic and preserve relevant logs for security and enforcement.
8. User submissions and correction evidence
If you submit feedback, a correction or other material, you confirm that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, that you have the right to provide it and that it does not infringe another person’s rights. Do not send confidential immigration files, passport copies or sensitive personal data unless we specifically request them through an appropriate channel.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and adapt the submitted material as reasonably necessary to investigate the request, correct the service and document the decision. This licence does not transfer ownership of your material.
We decide whether and how to implement corrections. Official register fields normally remain aligned with the published source even if an organisation believes the government record should be changed; the organisation should also contact the Home Office about the source entry.
9. Advertising, affiliates and third-party services
Sponsorlist may display advertising through Google AdSense or other advertising providers. Ad selection can be contextual or, with the required consent, personalised. Advertising revenue helps fund free access. An advert is paid third-party content and does not constitute our endorsement of an employer, recruiter, adviser, product or visa service.
Some links can be referral or affiliate links. Where relevant, parameters may identify Sponsorlist as the referring source, and we may receive a benefit if a user completes an action. This does not change the price unless the linked service states otherwise. Commercial relationships do not permit a third party to alter official register fields or our editorial conclusions.
External sites have their own terms, privacy practices and security. We are not responsible for their content, availability, transactions or promises. Verify every recruiter and payment independently, even when you reached the website through an advert or link displayed on Sponsorlist.
10. Fraud and payment warning
Fraudsters can copy real sponsor names, job adverts and company addresses. A directory match is not authentication of the person contacting you. Never pay a personal bank account, crypto wallet, gift-card request or money-transfer recipient for a guaranteed job, visa or Certificate of Sponsorship.
We do not collect employer sponsorship fees on behalf of the Home Office or listed companies. If anyone claims that Sponsorlist requires a payment to activate a CoS or secure a visa, stop communicating and report the approach through our contact page and the appropriate authorities.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We exclude implied conditions, warranties and representations relating to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability and results, except where they cannot lawfully be excluded.
We do not guarantee that use of Sponsorlist will lead to an interview, job offer, Certificate of Sponsorship, visa grant or any particular result. Sector counts and classifications are analytical estimates, not predictions about hiring demand.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that law does not permit us to exclude.
Subject to that paragraph, Amsky Labs Ltd will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss; loss of opportunity, employment, immigration status, profits, business, goodwill or data; visa refusal or delay; amounts paid to a fraudster or third party; or decisions made without independent verification. This applies whether the claim arises in contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise.
If you use the free public service as a business, our total liability arising from that use will not exceed £100. If you purchase a paid service under separate terms, the liability provision in those separate terms applies to that service. These limits apply only to the extent permitted by law.
13. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or end access where we reasonably believe a user has breached these terms, threatened security, infringed rights, overloaded the service or exposed us or others to legal risk. We may preserve evidence and cooperate with lawful investigations. Provisions intended to survive termination—including intellectual-property, disclaimer, liability and governing-law clauses—will continue.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect service, source, legal or security changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through a reasonable website notice. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means the revised terms apply to future use.
15. Governing law and general provisions
These terms and any non-contractual dispute are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although a consumer may have mandatory rights to bring a claim in another part of the United Kingdom.
If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer our rights as part of a genuine reorganisation or transfer of the service. These terms, together with documents expressly incorporated, form the agreement governing the free public service.
