Our family’s journey began in the 1920s when our grandparents migrated from Gujarat, India, to Nairobi, Kenya. Leaving behind their rural village, they brought with them rich culture, traditions, and a love for food. In Kenya, they joined the Indian community, living alongside Punjabis and sharing recipes. This blend of cultures gave rise to a unique fusion of Gujarati, Punjabi, and Kenyan flavours, evolving into the wholesome curries we cherish today, as shared in The Indians Next Door.
